One of my last hikes in Ireland was at Tomie’s Wood, a mountain hike close to where I stayed in Gap of Dunloe. When I veered off the main path and down seemingly endless stairs following the signs to O’Sullivan’s Cascade, I felt the atmosphere shift. I could see the There was a lovely local older couple who welcomed me as they were finishing up their own time enjoying the familiar scene with their dog. It was one of those moments where I could feel something special was happening, but I had to wait until I was alone to really feel into it. But the words that flowed effortlessly through my mind were clear at first sight: Garden of Eden.
I think of the Garden of Eden as an ideal for our simple existence on earth: we are connected to nature and protected, our needs are provided for, and the rules are simple. If we can follow them, we can live in harmony. This is, of course, not a complete analysis, but what first come to mind when I think of the Garden of Eden.
I called this place the Garden of Eden because in it I felt completely fulfilled. Everywhere I turned there was another mind-bogglingly beautiful sight. I had no desire for something that was missing. Nothing was missing. It was a place that felt like the utopia I’d always imagined the Garden of Eden to be. Something about feeling that closeness to God opened me up to greater wisdom.
By the next day, the purpose of my entire journey to Ireland (as much as I could know at that point) revealed itself to me. Spending time in the Garden of Eden allowed me a kind of freedom in my connection to God and the universe that effectively unveiled the truth and freed me from (at least some) illusion.
I’m writing this transmission on September 20th, and I collected the essence on June 30th. For more than two months I still couldn’t quite process what all happened in that second half of my Ireland Pilgrimage. Things were still unfolding. But I am starting to put the pieces together.
When I’m preserving, diluting, and bottling an essence, I taste it and get another glimpse or feel for its medicine in that moment. When I tasted the Garden of Eden essence, it felt like the chaotic multidimensional confusion flattened out into a kind of two-dimensional story book picture in which the simple truth of a situation was visible. And that’s what happened to me after my Garden of Eden visit. I could see the purpose for my experience and how it could serve my higher path.
When we witness the simple truth of a situation, we can see its value, purpose, and true nature. This essence allows us to see the ways in which our situation is ideal and appreciate it for the value it holds. There is a version of paradise or utopia that exists, and when we tap into it, we can gain more insight into the truth of our lives.
